The phrase "Makin' Groceries" is unique to New Orleans and derives from the French
"faire son marche," "to do one's market shopping" faire translating either "to do or to make".
The Mission of this New Orleans home grown band "Makin' Groceries" is to make the
culture and special character of New Orleans music come alive at your special event.
Our styles of music are Dance Band, New Orleans Funk, and Cool Jazz, all performed
with that special flair that says New Orleans.
Makin' Groceries is led by guitarist Jerry Christopher who is described by Jerry
Brock music critique and owner of the New Orleans Music Factory as New Orleans
supreme guitarist. The band features Miss Pearlie Tyler whose vocal styles range
from Aretha Franklin and Billy Holiday to Ella Fitzgerald.
Makin' Groceries specializes in conventions and wedding receptions, and with the
professionalism and leadership of Jerry Christopher you know that the music for
your special event will be perfect from the beginning to the end.
