    Jerry Christopher is an acclaimed jazz guitarist whose vibrant performances, infectious stage presence, and exceptional virtuosity make him one of the most sought-after live acts in the region. Born in Philadelphia, Christopher developed a deep foundational mastery of the instrument while studying for several years under the tutelage of the renowned jazz guitarist and legendary educator Joe Sgro. Following his rigorous training, Christopher took his talent on the road, honing his live performance skills by touring the United States for five years as the leader of his own traveling band.

    Christopher’s definitive career chapter began when a local venue caught wind of his extraordinary guitar skills, prompting his relocation to the Crescent City. He quickly became a cornerstone of the local music scene, captivating audiences by performing an exhausting schedule of six nights a week for over a decade. As a bandleader and the driving force behind the Original Big Easy Jazz Band and the New Orleans X-Ceptions, he has delivered thousands of high-energy live performances that seamlessly blend classic jazz traditions with New Orleans swing.

    His ability to connect with audiences and elevate any live venue has earned him high praise from prominent voices in the Louisiana cultural landscape.
